Traditional Story books now come in 3D Technology

Now, this is going to make you stand up and take notice – We have all heard about 3D movies, 3D TV and other 3 dimensional gadgets. But can you imagine a normal traditional story book with 3D where the pictures & images from the the book actually pop-out ?

Now this is exactly what has been invented by group of researchers in South Korea’s Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology. Before I tell you anything, have a look at these videos to see what I am talking about:

Ain’t this really freaking’ awesome ! Now, I am sure the question in your mind is sure to pop-up on how this is really possible. Yes, you do need to wear those 3D glasses if you need to see all the characters from stories jump out at you.

Pictures in the books have cues that trigger the 3D animation for readers wearing computer-screen goggles. As the reader turns and tilts the book, the 3D animation moves accordingly.

"It took us about three years to develop the software for this," said Kim Sang-cheol, the team leader of the project.

Kim said the technology could be used for any type of book and sees it eventually being used for images displayed over smart phones or at museums to enhance exhibits.

You are not going to see these books marketed any time soon the markets, but they sure will find ways to your drawing room a few years down the line.

For now just be amazed at what you see :)
